We offer Reduced Cost CANINE Spays and Neuters by appointment only on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Proof of Rabies is required which is the certificate signed by the vet in PA, NOT the tag, or a Rabies vaccine will be given. All dogs receive pre-op pain meds. Options include 1: Pre-Op Bloodwork to make sure the kidneys and liver are working properly to eliminate the anesthetics during surgery, 2: IV Fluids to maintain hydration and kidney function during surgery and rapid access in case of emergency 3: Heartworm/Lyme/Ehrlichia/Anaplasmosis testing and placement on a heartworm prevention product 4: Microchip for identification and permanent license 5: Fecal centrifugation for parasites and Giardia SNAP test 6: Post Op Pain Meds. A Reduced Cost FELINE Spay/Neuter Clinic is offered every Friday unless posted otherwise and 2 Sundays/month--dates below. Please contact Greys and Strays at 717-304-9987 OR email us at greysandstrays@comcast.net to book for Sunday clinics as only 20 female cats are spayed on a Sunday--NO APPTS ARE NEEDED FOR FRIDAYS. CATS MUST BE HEALTHY FOR SURGERY AND VACCINATIONS. Pricing info can be found under CLINIC INFO, CLINIC FORMS "Feline Surgery Consent and Cost Form." This form can also be printed out, completed and brought along on surgery day. Drop off for cats in separate carriers with a cloth towel, shred or newspaper is 8-9:00 am (NO litter boxes, heavy towels or blankets). No food after 10pm. No appointments needed for Fridays. Males should be at least 12 weeks of age and females must weigh AT LEAST 3-4 pounds. WE RECOMMEND VACCINATIONS AND DEWORMING BEFORE SURGERY IF POSSIBLE to decrease stress in recovering surgical patients AND to allow proper development of immunity after vaccination. A Reduced Cost Vaccination Clinic is provided on Fridays and listed Sundays from 9-11am. Rabies is required by law in dogs and house cats over 12 weeks of age. Since Rabies in PA is on the rise we recommend vaccinating all cats as Rabies can kill you and your pet!! For a 3 year Rabies License in PA, proof of previous rabies vaccination is required--this is the certificate signed by a vet, NOT the tag, as per PA Dog Law.
